Welcome to Colle della Strega website!


Presentation

Colle della Strega is an association of people - independent of any political party - whose aim is to protect the Cecchignola Valley and particularly the survival of Cecchignola Ditch.
Cecchignola Valley is a green area in the southern zone of Rome, Italy.
It has a particular environmental importance, since the presence of the "Cecchignola Ditch" and a bank vegetation (wood) around the ditch. It joins the "Appia Antica natural park", the "Laurentina natural reserve" and natural Park of the Roman coast. Furthermore the areaguarantees the connection between the three previous reserves and the environmental system of the Tiber.
Colle della Strega was started in 2001 and its purpose is to prevent further pollution of our air and land in this Valley.

We believe the Appia Antica Park should be include this Valley.....


.... and we fight for this!


Activities

Colle della Strega is guided in its activity by the understanding that all person are an integral part of the community with right and responsibility to help to solve the town's most important challenges while reducing its expenses and enhancing its quality of life.
Colle della Strega organizes and participates in meeting, events, conferences, istitutional appointments and it will keep doing until there is a broad consensus and a common vision among all those involved on the issues.
Istitutions and citizens can work together for the common good.

A field visit was organized in the Park of Appia Antica to share experiences with various stakeholders active in UPFG in Rome and elsewhere in Italy, including the Municipality of Rome (Economics and Policy Development Department), the Italian Federation of Excursionism (Region of Lazio), Mr. Paolo Piacentini, the Extraordinary Commissary of Appia Antica Park Mr. Stefano Cresta, and the Citizen Association for the protection of Cecchignola Ditch, represented by Mr. Massimiliano Di Gioia.
